Surge protection devices, such as the new DEHNguard M DC ACI 1250 FM, are an essential part of the protection concept for these systems. With a protection level of 2.5 kV and a short-circuit withstand capacity of 100 kA, this modular Type 2 surge arrester is also ideal for use in battery storage systems. Furthermore, its non-response up to 1200 V meets the regulatory requirement of IEC 61851-23.
The integrated ACI technology, combining a circuit breaker and spark arrester, eliminates the need for an external backup fuse, saving valuable space on the charging station. Complex sizing of backup fuses, selectivity, and connection sections is no longer required when designing new charging points.
