The RS 3D CAD model library, launched over six years ago, allows electrical, mechanical, and automation engineers to download completely free CAD models. This library includes models from 120 vendors, now including the trusted RS Pro brand.
In addition, new process automation components from leading suppliers such as Phoenix Contact and Schneider Electric have been added.
CAD models can be downloaded from the product pages that offer this option, as well as from DesignSpark Mechanical. Engineers can also access the complete catalog from a single point through Traceparts.
Engineers can also browse the library through RS's new Toolbox app 3D viewer, allowing users to view products from all angles on their mobile device from anywhere.
In this regard, Glenn Jarret, Global Head of Product Marketing at RS, stated: “Since its launch in May 2010, RS has consistently expanded its 3D CAD model library,” adding that “this significant milestone demonstrates our ongoing commitment to electronic and mechanical engineers who want to design in 3D. The selection of available models has also been expanded to include parts specifically designed for use in automation applications.”.
