The building will house new pilot plants for the development of nanomaterials, bioplastics, and materials with advanced properties such as flame retardants, thermochromic agents, insecticides, and antibacterials, among others. Thanks to these new facilities, the technology center will be able to continue meeting the innovation needs of its clients in sectors as diverse as packaging, aerospace, automotive, construction, electrical and electronics, and medical.
The new facilities have been built taking into account the most demanding measures to preserve the safety of the researchers who work in them as well as to minimize the impact of their activity on the environment.
As part of this inauguration, AIMPLAS will also offer attendees the opportunity, upon prior request, to participate in a demonstration of these new facilities. This is the second open house at the pilot plant held by AIMPLAS. The first took place in 2014, when experts in the main plastics transformation processes provided technical assistance to industry professionals, resulting in a highly successful event. This time, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn firsthand from AIMPLAS researchers about the center's technological capabilities in compounding, composites, and recycling. Center professionals will provide personalized technical assistance to those who register for this event, answering any questions related to these processes and explaining how AIMPLAS can contribute to boosting their businesses as a technology partner.
