UWB technology offers high-precision positioning and secure, interference-resistant communication, but integrating high-frequency radio frequency (RF) systems remains a challenge for many developers. TrueSense modules and custom solutions are based on chipsets from NXP Semiconductors, an Avnet Silica partner in the semiconductor field, including the Trimension™ SR040 and SR250 UWB integrated circuits. In addition to the hardware, Avnet Silica customers now have access to the complete TrueSense software and firmware ecosystem. This includes customization, as well as mobile app integration, SDK/APIs, and technical support, helping to accelerate development and reduce time to market for UWB-enabled products.

The modules enable safe and highly accurate distance measurement and positioning, while the dedicated solutions also offer advanced radar-based capabilities, enabling applications such as child presence detection (CPD), occupant monitoring, and contactless vital sign detection. This opens the door to innovative applications in the smart home, healthcare, industrial, mobility, and security markets.

Walter Puhl, Wireless Technology Specialist for EMEA at Avnet Silica, emphasized: “Providing comprehensive solutions and support to our customers is essential to our philosophy of driving growth through innovation. The addition of TrueSense as our UWB module supplier demonstrates our ongoing commitment to fostering innovative applications with more manageable development timelines.”

Armando Caltabiano, CEO of TrueSense, added: “By combining TrueSense’s certified UWB modules, along with its firmware and software ecosystem, with Avnet Silica’s technical expertise and market reach, we can help customers reduce integration complexity, accelerate time to market, and pave the way for new high-precision, radar-based distance measurement applications across the EMEA region.”
