In order to prioritize this plant and, at the same time, respond more flexibly to customer inquiries across Europe, the company also sought an additional foothold in Europe. In July 2026, production began at the new multifunctional plant in Pitești, Romania, northwest of Bucharest. The plant focuses on manufacturing surge protection devices, which require a high degree of manual assembly.
The new Pitești plant is the perfect complement to the existing plants in Neumarkt and Mühlhausen. While the latter are characterized by high production volumes and highly automated processes, the Romanian plant primarily manufactures small batches of products requiring a high level of manual assembly. Just under a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, the first surge protection devices rolled off the production line.

Multifunctional Center:
After an exhaustive search for a suitable location across Europe, Romania ultimately met most of DEHN's key requirements. This southeastern European country offers ideal location characteristics, including good infrastructure and an immediate supply of skilled and well-trained workers. Up to 150 employees will work at this facility in the future. In addition to the production and logistics departments, HR, marketing, IT, and other shared services staff will complete this multifunctional center.

Strengthening the Global Manufacturing Network:
Pitești joins the company's global manufacturing network. Last year, the specialist in lightning protection, surge protection, and safety equipment opened a production facility in Mooresville, North Carolina, to better serve the US market from there. The new European operational headquarters is a key component of the company's international strategy and allows it to respond flexibly to the growing demand from European countries.
