Farnell element14 helps startups and makers with support, expertise, and resources to market their products
Farnell element14 has announced the launch of “Maker to Market”: a range of services that offer startups support, expertise and resources to market their products.
These Maker-to-Market services are supported by Design & Manufacturing Services, which allow engineers to focus on developing the best possible products by providing support throughout all phases of the design and manufacturing process. This includes tailored services for larger-scale projects or high-volume manufacturing.
The experience and expertise of the Premier Farnell Group help clients overcome both technical and commercial challenges in product design and provide guidance and support regarding cost optimization, volume production, certifications, and conformity testing, all of which contribute to faster time to market. Premier Farnell has a proven track record of working with startups and supporting them in bringing their products to market. A prime example is FutureHome, a Norwegian startup that has developed a smart portal enabling users to remotely control, automate, and monitor various smart devices in their homes. Premier Farnell provided FutureHome with a full range of services, including engineering, conformity, and manufacturing support, allowing the FutureHome team to focus on product development and business growth.
Premier Farnell actively sponsors the Startupbootcamp IoT | Connected Devices, a dedicated program that offers support, guidance, and investment opportunities to global technology startups working in the consumer or industrial Internet of Things sectors.
Premier Farnell also manufactures some of the world's most popular single-board computers, such as Raspberry Pi™, BeagleBone® Black, and BBC micro:bit:, further demonstrating their expertise, experience, and resources to assist startups throughout the entire process of designing, producing, and marketing cutting-edge technology products.
“As the leading distributor, at Premier Farnell we pride ourselves on providing excellent support to engineers, taking their ideas and elevating them to the next level,” says Peter Birks, Business President of Farnell element14, adding: “With our Maker to Market services, we help meet the needs of both startups and professional makers who have great ideas and a lot of enthusiasm for the products or concepts they are developing, but who don’t necessarily have the in-house skills or resources to design, manufacture, distribute, and promote their products.”.
“Therefore, we can help designers turn a brilliant idea into a finished product that can be promoted and distributed globally, and we can help makers bring their product ideas to market faster and at a lower overall price.”.
An additional resource for startups is Hardware Studio Connection, a joint venture between Avnet and Avnet's new division, Dragon Innovation, which offers designers access to hands-on support from the companies' engineers, as well as discounts on components and services.
