The eSync Alliance is a multi-company initiative for over-the-air (OTA) updates and data services for the connected car. The Alliance is built on eSync, a multi-vendor OTA platform of servers and embedded software, which provides a secure, bidirectional data channel between the cloud and in-vehicle electronic endpoints. eSync can wirelessly deliver and update software and firmware while collecting real-time operational data from in-vehicle devices. By leveraging a global network of cooperating vendors, the eSync system can help prevent increasingly costly and inconvenient vehicle recalls and create new opportunities for automakers to enhance vehicle software and features in the field.
