This activity aligns with Sonnedix's strategy as a long-term asset owner, managing and investing to ensure the operational excellence of its plants. The new inverter model will improve equipment availability and, consequently, the availability of the photovoltaic plant, guaranteeing that the plant operates at the expected level.
This photovoltaic park, inaugurated in 2008, was the first of its kind in the province of Málaga. Owned by Sonnedix, it covers an area of 6.8 hectares, equivalent to approximately seven football fields, and generates enough energy for around 3,000 homes per year.
The four-week upgrade involved replacing nine 100 kW inverters with nine 100 kW inverters from INGECON SUN. The key feature of these inverters is their ability to deliver nominal power at ambient temperatures up to 50°C. Furthermore, their wide MPP (Maximum Power Point) voltage range of 513 to 850 V allows them to extract maximum performance from the solar panels. Finally, these inverters come standard with integrated Wi-Fi communication, facilitating and streamlining local and remote monitoring.
The replacement of inverters has also required reconfiguring the strings of photovoltaic panels to adapt to the new MPPT operating window while maintaining the original peak power.
