Automotive manufacturers, suppliers, and testing facilities need to increase EV driving range, performance, and safety while reducing costs. When developing and testing high-voltage batteries for EVs, time becomes a critical factor in a competitive market. The collaboration between Keysight and Proventia offers a secure, location-independent testing laboratory with a very fast deployment time. The testing laboratory incorporates the following key solutions:
- Keysight's Scienlab battery testing solutions, including the Scienlab SL1700A Series pack-level battery testing system for high-voltage batteries up to 1500V. It meets safety requirements with features including redundant measurement and utilizes new Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology that allows for 96% energy recovery.
- Scienlab's Keysight energy storage discovery software, which controls and monitors test systems and laboratory components from the device under test (DUT), including the battery management system and climate chambers.
- Keysight PathWave lab operations software for battery testing that helps manage the entire lab and optimize workflow, data acquisition, and management.
- Proventia's location-independent, modular, and standardized test units reduce time and costs with scalability that makes it easy for customers to choose the right-sized test chambers for rapid deployment.
- Proventia's testing laboratories include the integration and control of climate chambers, liquid conditioning systems, air conditioning, a control room, and a DUT preparation area. To prevent hazardous situations and ensure the health of employees performing battery tests, safety features include fire and gas detection, a facility alarm system, and access control.
“Combining our experience and knowledge with Keysight has enabled Proventia to quickly deliver a battery testing laboratory that meets the specific needs of our customers,” said Jari Lotvonen, president and CEO of Proventia.
“Working with Proventia makes it easier to offer customers a modular, secure, and rapidly deployable test lab infrastructure equipped with Keysight’s sophisticated battery testing solutions,” said Thomas Goetzl, vice president and general manager for Keysight’s Energy and Automotive Solutions business unit. “This enables customers to accelerate their time to market for battery products without compromising performance, quality, or test coverage.”
