Additionally, Planet Debug has been launched, a remote farm of development boards that allows engineers from anywhere in the world to debug code remotely without needing to invest in hardware, being the first initiative of its kind for Renesas.
Tooling support for Renesas MCUs will be provided through MIKROE's multi-architecture NECTO Studio IDE and Click board™ compact expansion boards, enabling developers to quickly create proofs of concept, prototypes, and code for new embedded projects. Click boards are compatible with the open-source mikroBUS™ socket and can be used in any host system that supports this standard. They also include the open-source mikroSDK libraries, offering great flexibility for evaluation and customization.
MIKROE has been deploying its Planet Debug remote farms in Europe and the Americas and plans to promote this Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) platform with Renesas through webinars and other programs. Developers using Renesas devices can reserve free time on the remote farm, configured to their needs, allowing them to develop and debug their own applications using the NECTO Studio IDE without having to purchase, wait for, or configure any hardware.
Planet Debug remote farms operate using CODEGRIP, MIKROE's tool and the world's first device that enables programming and debugging via Wi-Fi. Matic explains:
“The beauty of Planet Debug is that, through NECTO, you can see real images of actual boards in real time; it's not a simulation.”
