Mouser Electronics President and CEO Glenn Smith, who joined the company in 1973, attributes Mouser's success to the hard work of the Mouser team and their dedication to providing the best service in the industry. "I commend all Mouser employees, past and present. We wouldn't be here today without the exceptional teamwork of our people. They are the backbone of our longevity. Each of us continues to play an important role in the company's success," Smith said. "Together we have accomplished great things, and we still have a long way to go."

"I always tell employees that their paychecks are made possible by satisfied customers," Smith added. "Our customers and manufacturing partners are an important part of Mouser's success story. We are very grateful for their patronage and collaboration over the decades."

A lot has changed since Glenn Smith, then a college student, took a part-time job in the warehouse of an electronics startup near San Diego in the early 1970s. There were only 12 employees. Over the past five decades, Smith has helped transform that small company into the component distribution giant Mouser is today, serving more than 650,000 customers and distributing the most advanced semiconductors and electronic components from more than 1,200 partner manufacturers.

Mouser has a long history with many milestones. In 1973, when Glenn Smith, then a college student, took a part-time job in the warehouse, there were only 12 employees. In 1986, the company moved its operations from California to Texas, near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, to expand its distribution capacity. In 2000, Fort Worth-based TTI, Inc. acquired Mouser, and in 2004, Smith was promoted to president and CEO. In 2007, Mouser and TTI were acquired by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.

Along with its 28 locations, Mouser's core is its global headquarters and distribution center, located on its 100-acre campus in Mansfield, Texas. Over several decades, Mouser has won numerous awards for its innovation, leadership, and community, marketing, and industry initiatives. In 2012, Mouser received the Employer of Excellence award for Tarrant County for its significant economic and community impact in North Texas. In 2019, Smith was named a top-level public CEO by Fort Worth Business Press magazine. Mouser also won the Big Company of the Year award in 2014 and the Best Places to Work award in 2021. During 2022, the company received more than 30 distribution excellence awards from its manufacturing partners.
