Mouser is collaborating with the DS PENSKE team in the 2022–23 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season, along with TTI, Inc. and manufacturers Molex and KYOCERA AVX. Mouser and Molex have been working together to sponsor Formula E races since 2015.

“We are thrilled to be part of the DS PENSKE Formula E team,” said Todd McAtee, senior vice president of business development at Mouser Electronics. Two new drivers have also joined this Mouser-backed entry. The drivers who will make up the DS PENSKE team in Season 9 are current Formula E World Champion Stoffel Vandoorne and two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne, making it one of the strongest teams the series has ever seen.

Following a highly successful campaign for the second-generation car, which between 2019 and 2020 delivered two titles for drivers and teams (and a series of unparalleled records, with 10 wins, 15 pole positions, and 28 podium finishes), the Stellantis-backed team officially unveiled the DS E-TENSE FE23. This third-generation, 100% electric car, with its instantly recognizable black and gold tones, perfectly embodies the spirit of DS Automobiles and is a testament to the latest technological leap.

“We are very excited to partner with Mouser again to support DS PENSKE and promote this exciting sport and its focus on sustainable automotive technologies,” said Mike Morton, CEO of TTI.

“This new chapter in Formula E promises to continue the evolution of the sport. It’s also an incredible showcase for the electric future,” said Fred Bell, Vice President of Global Distribution at Molex. “Mouser and Molex are proud to have supported Formula E from the beginning, and we wish the DS Penske team a very successful season.”

"It's great to be able to collaborate with Mouser and TTI in the DS PENSKE Formula E team for another season," said Alex Schenkel, senior vice president of global sales at KYOCERA AVX.

The DS E-TENSE FE23 features significant changes compared to its predecessor. The third-generation cars are the fastest ever seen in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, with a top speed of 280 kph. They are also 60 kg lighter than the second-generation cars. However, the most important aspect is their efficiency, as over 40% of the energy used in races comes from regenerative braking.

Furthermore, the DS E-TENSE FE23 is more powerful: it generates 350 kW compared to the 250 kW of the second-generation cars and features all-wheel drive. The new front drivetrain adds an additional 250 kW to the rear, doubling the regenerative braking capacity to a total of 600 kW.

Racing is all about speed and endurance, and these partnerships are an innovative way for Mouser to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the latest technologies from its manufacturing partners. Formula E Season 9 begins on January 14, 2023, with the Mexico City ePrix.
