In the wafer manufacturing area, the two companies are preparing for the production of Nexperia's MOSFETs at the future 300 mm semiconductor plant that Tata Electronics is building in Dholera, in the Indian state of Gujarat.
The agreement also includes the assembly and testing of Nexperia's discrete semiconductor products at Tata Electronics' packaging facility in Jagiroad, Assam.
In addition to manufacturing activities, the companies plan to collaborate on technological development and research. This cooperation will combine Nexperia's discrete, power, and analog semiconductor technologies with the manufacturing infrastructure that Tata Electronics is developing in India.

The agreement thus encompasses various stages of the semiconductor manufacturing chain, from wafer processing to subsequent encapsulation and testing operations.
Tata Electronics is building a commercial semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dholera, Gujarat, as well as an assembly and testing plant in Jagiroad, Assam. The announced joint investment for both facilities amounts to $14 billion.
The new facilities will be dedicated to the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of semiconductors for various applications and sectors.
The collaboration between Nexperia and Tata Electronics is taking place within a context of expanding semiconductor production capacity in India and the geographical diversification of the sector's supply chains.
The semiconductors produced at these facilities will be used in applications related to automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, energy, communications, and infrastructure.
