Nordic's current multiprotocol nRF51™, nRF52™, nRF53™, nRF54L™, and nRF54H™ series systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), and nRF91™ Series cellular IoT and DECT NR+ systems-in-packages (SiPs) utilize Arm Cortex®-M class microprocessors. Nordic also uses related Arm IP in its products, along with design tools that facilitate the development of application software to run on Arm devices. Nordic's future product roadmap includes chips that will utilize Arm IP.
The agreement will allow Nordic to develop the comprehensive solutions needed to power the IoT devices of the future in sectors such as smart homes, smart cities, industrial automation, healthcare, and wearables, among other key sectors. Many of these applications will require complex software and machine learning models that, in turn, will demand powerful processor resources to function, without compromising battery life.
Nordic's fourth-generation multiprotocol SoC, including the nRF54H20, is geared toward this future. The nRF54H20 incorporates multiple Arm Cortex-M33 processors and state-of-the-art security. The SoC recently demonstrated world-leading processing efficiency, along with superior processing performance in the EEMBC ULPMark®-CoreMark benchmark tests. This performance underscores the SoC's potential to enable innovative IoT end products that were previously impossible.
Arm ATA provides access to Arm's broadest range of cutting-edge and emerging IP products, tools, support, and training. With this advanced access, ATA removes technological and commercial barriers by enabling IP access at any point in a project's lifecycle, the flexibility to explore multiple iterations, and support for several different products under development simultaneously.
