The first Panasonic Industry equipment, such as the NPM VF odd-shape component insertion machine for THT (Through Hole Technology) assembly, has already been integrated into the Siemens plant in Vienna.
Panasonic Industry is currently working on linking its products and solutions with Siemens' Teamcenter and MindSphere systems.
Nils Heininger, Director of the Panasonic Factory Solutions division, is very pleased with this new cooperation: "We are extremely proud to announce our collaboration agreement with Siemens Factory Automation Services. The quality and reliability of our production solutions, such as our laser markers, our THT component assembly machines, and even more complex software solutions like PanaCIM, convinced the Siemens AG management, and we have complete confidence in this collaborative project.".
Gunter Beitinger, Vice President of Manufacturing DI FA MF, sees great potential in Panasonic's factory solutions: "Thanks to close collaboration, we have been able to learn more about Panasonic's entire product range. Among others, Panasonic's odd-shape component insertion machines are also a very promising option for our future automation projects at Siemens AG's electronics plants.".
“This collaboration is an important milestone in the digitalization of our supply chain. Our goal is to connect as many machines and installations as possible in our factories to Siemens MindSphere. We have achieved this goal with Panasonic systems,” commented Andreas Wipper, Purchasing Council Manager, Production Machines & Equipment, Siemens Supply Chain Management.
