As an initial approach, ROHM and Tata Electronics will establish a power semiconductor manufacturing framework in India, combining ROHM's advanced device technologies with Tata Electronics' advanced packaging and backend capabilities. Furthermore, by integrating sales channels and networks, the alliance will generate new business opportunities in the Indian market and deliver higher-value solutions to a broad range of customers.

As a first step in this collaboration, Tata Electronics will assemble and test the ROHM-designed 100V, 300A automotive-grade Si Nch MOSFET in a TOLL package, with the goal of beginning mass production shipments next year. Both companies will also explore the co-development of high-value package technologies in the future. Furthermore, they will join forces to commercialize the products manufactured under this collaboration.

This alliance reflects the Government of India's "Make in India" vision and "Designed in India, Manufactured in India" philosophy. The ROHM–Tata collaboration represents a key step in delivering value to customers in the Indian market by creating an ecosystem that integrates design, development, and manufacturing within the country. Furthermore, it strengthens domestic value-added and ensures a stable supply of products optimized for the Indian market.

Commenting on the alliance, Dr. Randhir Thakur, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Electronics, said,
“Tata Electronics is deeply committed to fostering a robust semiconductor industry in India. We are excited to partner with ROHM, a global leader in semiconductor solutions. Their legacy of quality and reliability brings invaluable expertise. Through our assembly and testing facilities, we will provide advanced packaging services to support ROHM in developing products for Indian and global markets. This alliance will strengthen trust and resilience in the global supply chain.”
Dr. Kazuhide Ino, Member of the Board and Executive Director of ROHM, added,
“We are delighted to collaborate with Tata Electronics, a leading group with advanced packaging capabilities. This alliance will allow us to expand our portfolio of products manufactured in India and build a sustainable regional supply chain. We are confident that this collaboration will meet the growing demand for locally produced semiconductors and also supply the global market.”
