Both transactions are part of Electrocomponents' strategy to expand its value-added service offering across a wide range of industries, from personal protective equipment to industrial supply solutions. The company is thus strengthening its commitment as a trusted partner for suppliers and customers, ensuring a suite of value-added services designed to guarantee efficiency and business continuity.

Needlers is the UK's leading supplier of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene and safety products to the food industry. The company also provides value-added services, such as technical advice and hygiene and safety training videos, and includes two proprietary brands, Pro-Fit and Reldeen.
Synovos is a leading provider in the Americas of integrated procurement solutions, from procurement spend management to inventory and strategic sourcing. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, including US antitrust clearance, and is expected to close in the first quarter of calendar year 2021.

Lindsley Ruth, CEO of Electrocomponentes, commented: “Needlers and Synovos are two excellent companies, and their acquisition aligns with our strategy of selectively bringing high-quality, value-creating companies into the Group. Needlers is a company we have been following for a long time, and it will enhance our offering within the increasingly important market for safety, hygiene, and PPE solutions. Synovos, for its part, allows us to expand our value-added solutions offering in the US and the Americas, significantly improving our proposition for corporate customers. It is an excellent complement to our existing IESA business, which we acquired in 2018, and will increase our ability to support customers in managing their purchasing, inventory, and maintenance needs worldwide.”
Needlers and Synovos will join Electrocomponentes’ portfolio of brands, which already includes RS Components (RS), Allied Electronics & Automation, Monitoring, OKdo, IESA, as well as its own brands RS PRO and DesignSpark.
