This new collaboration combines Songwon's expertise in R&D and chemical manufacturing with Heraeus' technical capabilities, giving both companies greater access to the global electronics market.
Highlighting the key aspects of the agreement, Dr. Ralf Droste, President of Heraeus New Businesses, commented: “In a collaboration, it is essential that partners combine their strengths, mutually benefit, and increase their market opportunities. This agreement will lead to exactly that. As equal partners, we will combine our experience and expertise in R&D, market research, and manufacturing with a long-term vision to take our businesses to a whole new level.”.
Under this agreement, Songwon will manufacture the jointly developed, high-end specialty chemicals for the electronics and semiconductor market, and Heraeus will market them alongside its existing portfolio. “By combining our strengths and offering a wide range of high-purity chemicals for electronics in any order volume, whether measured in grams or tons, we aim to become the preferred supplier for customers in the electronics sector,” adds Droste.
Droste points out that Heraeus already offers numerous high-end products, such as conductive polymers and printing pastes for printed electronics applications like touchscreens. The collaboration allows Heraeus to further expand its offering for this industry thanks to Songwon's technical expertise and world-class manufacturing facilities, capable of producing the required quality and quantities of high-end specialty chemicals like these.
“Being located at the heart of the Asian electronics industry and having a long tradition of manufacturing high-quality specialty chemicals, Songwon is perfectly positioned to contribute to the success of this exciting collaboration,” explains Maurizio Butti, CEO of the Songwon Industrial Group. “Furthermore, Heraeus’s excellent sales network and market position will allow us to build strong relationships with key players in the electronics industry while meeting their needs and responding quickly to new developments in this rapidly evolving market.”.
