Vicor Corporation supplied URE with high-performance power modules, helping them achieve their lightest ever vehicle to mark the team's 20th anniversary. Chosen for their compact size and lightweight characteristics, Vicor modules effectively reduce the high-voltage battery power from 400V-600V to 27V-38V. By using Vicor's high-power-density modules, the team achieved an astounding 15% weight reduction. Powering seven low-voltage circuits, including the battery and radiator fans, these modules deliver optimal efficiency. URE produced a more compact design with improved functionality, including reduced cooling and lighter components compared to alternative discrete designs.
Following the Assen race, the team will continue its competitive journey at renowned circuits: the Hungaroring in Hungary and Hockenheim in Germany. The team, currently holding a commendable fourth position out of 280 teams worldwide in the Formula Student competition, is determined to further improve its global ranking.
