Yamaha Robotics SMT Distributor Meeting 2025
“With our anniversary and the recent significant new investment in R&D and manufacturing in Hamamatsu, we had two good reasons to invite our distribution network partners to Japan,” says Shuichi Imai, who joined the Yamaha Robotics European team as General Manager of Sales for the SMT division in 2024. “The visit also showcased the progress made in sustainability, such as the adoption of eco-friendly steel in equipment manufacturing and new waste reduction and recycling strategies.”
Delegates saw how the investment has roughly doubled SMT assembly production capacity, while extensive electrification combined with increased adoption of solar panels will make the facility Yamaha's first carbon-neutral factory. Upcoming innovations in SMT assembly equipment were also showcased, including new screen printing, dispenser, mounting, and inspection capabilities, as well as the latest software updates.

The meeting concluded with the traditional awards ceremony, recognizing the best results across the European network. Prime Option, a distributor in Ireland, received the Best Service award. Renex, which covers Poland, Romania, and Slovenia, was awarded the Most Valuable Distributor prize, and ProSMT of Turkey received the Special Achievement award.
To conclude the event, Mr. Imai stated: “We are delighted with the total commitment we see from all our distribution partners, which continues to drive business in Europe. I hope that the time we have spent together in Japan this year has added new energy to continue our mission.”
