The University of Almería (UAL) and Schneider Electric Spain will train teachers and students in energy management and automation
The University of Almería, as an institution committed to quality university teaching and scientific and technological research, open to society and especially to the business world - with which it maintains numerous and varied relationships - has taken another step forward in this commitment this Thursday, November 9, with Schneider Electric, a leading company in energy management and automation.
The rector of the University of Almería, Carmelo Rodríguez, and the director of the Schneider Electric Training Institute, José Miguel Solans, have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of learning about, monitoring and proposing cooperation activities carried out between both entities.
This agreement complements one of UAL's priority areas: university-business collaboration. "In this case, the agreement stipulates that Schneider will award prizes to graduating students, create a dedicated classroom, participate in our Job Fair, and we will select CVs of our top students, hoping they will be hired. Ultimately, this agreement strengthens an existing relationship that promises to be very positive and intense in the future," the rector noted.
For his part, José Miguel Solans indicated that this agreement is the result of the ongoing relationship they have had with the University of Almería for some time. “You are a very active university; we have seen it in the laboratories. You are making the most of all the equipment you have purchased and some that we have provided. We support universities that truly want to use modern materials and equipment to train students, and it is also very important that professors stay up-to-date. We would like to be able to establish a Schneider classroom in the future.”.
Within the framework of this agreement, various activities related to digital transformation in Energy Management, the Electricity Distribution sectors, Industrial Control and Automation, Home Automation and Building Automation will be proposed, such as: teacher training, provision of educational content, development of studies or discussion forums, provision of R&D&I services, creation of a Schneider Classroom and sponsorship of various activities.
Furthermore, Schneider Electric is considering sponsoring an award each academic year for the best Final Year Project related to energy management or industrial control and automation, provided that the project is carried out using Schneider Electric equipment or software. Additionally, the University of Almería (UAL) will invite Schneider Electric to participate with a presentation at the Job Fairs.
The agreement also opens the doors of Schneider Electric to students, as the University of Almería (UAL), through its School of Engineering, will select the ten students with the best academic records at the end of each academic year who complete their technical studies. With their authorization, the University will then forward their CVs to Schneider Electric.
The Schneider Electric Training Institute (ISEF) is the leading technical training and technology dissemination tool for both its customers and the educational community. For over 30 years, Schneider Electric has provided training programs through ISEF that align with the technology and solutions demanded by the market. ISEF has a long-standing and strong relationship with the educational sector. This is evidenced by its numerous collaboration agreements with universities, business schools, regional education authorities, and vocational training institutes, which represent a significant asset for the company due to the role these future professionals play in the industry.
