The project, funded with 4 million euros by the European Commission under the H2020 program, is based on a virtual platform for collaboration between users, who can be energy generators and consumers, which facilitates interoperability between local energy generation and storage capacities and their integration with the electricity distribution network, improving energy utilization rates.

Three Pilot Projects
: For its validation, the platform was deployed in three pilot scenarios: a solar laboratory in Portugal, focused on distributed renewable energy production with shared storage capacity; a producer-consumer community in Austria focused on collaboration and sharing of energy resources; and a facility in Greece centered on services related to electric mobility.
The analysis of energy business processes enabled the definition and development of functional requirements in models based on integration and interoperability, such as distributed flexibility management, collaboration between storage systems and the distribution network operator, and collaboration between electric vehicles and renewable energy managers, as well as peer-to-peer energy markets.
From the platform's sustainability perspective, the analyzed validation results allow for the establishment of minimum interoperability and integration requirements in local, collaborative energy markets. These markets are led and promoted by the European Union's Green Energy Package and are aligned with the efficient management of energy asset operations.

According to Andrea Rossi, Head of the Energy, Mobility and AI Market at Atos' R&D group, “the project's objective has focused on improving the digital transformation capacity of large communities (local ecosystems). The results will be applied to other R&D projects to enhance the scope and capabilities of the functionalities, and to make all aspects related to the energy sector's value chain more flexible and balanced.”

In addition to the technical development, the SHAR-Q project has benefited from the support and representation of key European players in the energy sector, whose backing has been crucial in ensuring the project's results align with market expectations and needs. The advisory committee provided valuable input at critical stages of the project's development, enabling the final results to be tailored to a real-world context and facilitating the analysis of new collaborative processes among the various stakeholders in the energy value chain.
