The system consists of 1 to 3 LX-GPS probes and measurement management software for Windows. The ability to connect 3 probes simultaneously allows for illuminance measurement using a method similar to that of Royal Decree 1890/2008 on Energy Efficiency in Outdoor Lighting Installations.
The LX-GPS probes integrate a high-precision, wide-range lux probe with a GPS locator into a single unit, allowing the illuminance measurement to be synchronized with the position and simplifying the assembly.
The LX-GPS software has two functionalities: facilitating measurements with LX-GPS probes from a vehicle and managing the readings. These readings are stored in different defined tasks, which can then be exported for analysis on another computer. LX
-GPS allows you to determine the average, maximum, and minimum illuminance of a section, as well as compare it with the same section or with another section measured on different days or at different times. Similarly, it allows you to analyze average and extreme uniformity. Therefore, it is possible to analyze the evolution of an installation over time or study the behavior of the same installation at different times; to analyze the influence of factors such as commercial lighting, energy-saving systems, weather phenomena, etc.
It is also worth noting that the LX-GPS probe's wide measurement range and its ability to extrapolate position allow for the measurement of tunnel and tunnel reinforcement lighting, as well as the measurement of lighting with various road structures (tunnels, bridges, roundabouts, etc.).
In conclusion, the LX-GPS system simplifies the measurement of illuminance and uniformity in outdoor lighting installations, allowing for their periodic and routine monitoring and analysis.
