The fourth generation of Lumileds LUXEON CoB Core Range LEDs features a single 13, 15, or 19 mm optical LES that delivers high flux densities and high efficiency. LUXEON CoB Core Range (Gen 4) LED arrays are offered in color temperatures from 3000K to 4000K and CRIs of 80 or 90. The CoBs offer the lowest thermal resistance in the industry, allowing for smaller heat sinks and optics, resulting in a lower overall system cost. The MCPCB substrate is also more robust than ceramic substrates, which are prone to cracking during assembly or use.
All LUXEON CoB Core Range LEDs are grouped with a single 3-step MacAdam ellipse (80 and 90 color index rating) to ensure optimal optical performance in backlighting and spotlight applications. LUXEON CoB Core Range LEDs are all hot-tested at 85 degrees Celsius, simplifying luminaire design and minimizing testing.
Lumileds' LUXEON CoB Core Range LEDs are designed for a wide range of directional and general-purpose lighting applications, including architectural lighting, plant lights, "high bay" and "low bay" fixtures, and spotlights.
