Currently, with the emergence of Smart City and Smart Grid solutions, it is necessary to be able to integrate different IP communication systems, in addition to the usual mobile telephony and GPRS technology.
For this reason, AFEISA has developed the new Cnet-RS modem, specifically designed to integrate the Teleastro local control unit of the lighting panel into the IP communication system required for each installation.
The Cnet-RS connects to the Teleastro's RS-232 port and converts the signal to an Ethernet channel for direct connection to an internal network or, via a router, to connect all devices on the created Ethernet network to the internet. It can also be adapted to other types of networks using, for example, fiber optic converters or Wi-Fi access points, allowing each installation to employ the necessary communication system. It is also worth noting the possibility of creating subnets using, for example, GPRS or ADSL routers, Wi-Fi access points, etc. This makes it possible to connect several Teleastro-equipped units to a wired Ethernet subnet and access the internet from a single point.
The Cnet-RS provides the Teleastro with maximum flexibility to use the most suitable communication method in each installation, thus becoming a fundamental element in smart cities.
