These families can efficiently control (up to 98%) a single LED or multiple LEDs connected in series from a voltage ranging from 8.5V to 40V.
The drivers deliver an adjustable current with maximum values that depend on the device and are summarized in the following tables:
Designs using these drivers require very few external components, operate at a switching frequency of 1MHz, and support a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C.
For the 7x20 family, the current intensity can be controlled via the ADJ pin using a DC voltage, PWM, or a signal generated by an MCU. The output can be disabled simply by applying a voltage below 0.2V to the AD pin, which puts the driver into low-power mode.
The 7x30 family differs in that it includes a "Switch dimming" function that detects when a switch is activated to adjust the output current, allowing dimming functions without altering the original lighting system design. It can be configured using the DIM1 and DIM2 pins for two or three intensity levels, and the current for each intensity level can be set accordingly.
