Seoul Semiconductor's SunLike LED lighting range has been developed as a natural light LED optimized for people-centered lighting. SunLike contributes to improved health (e.g., sleep quality and prevention of eye strain and myopia) by providing natural light that helps stabilize biorhythms. SunLike essentially eliminates the low-wavelength, high-energy blue LED light source and replaces it with a purple light LED chip that combines Seoul Semiconductor's patented LED chip technology with Toshiba Materials' innovative TRI-R phosphor technology.
After winning numerous awards worldwide, SunLike LEDs also triumphed at the Lux Awards 2018, in the 'Enabling Technology of the Year' category, which recognizes exceptional technological advances in various fields, including light sources, drivers, optics, thermal products and innovative materials.
A key element of SunLike technology is its ability to deliver authentic, natural color with an excellent color rendering ratio (CRI) similar to sunlight. It achieves a 94% match to the sunlight spectrum. Furthermore, SunLike LEDs offer exceptional clarity and a dimensional feel to objects and text with glare-free illumination, making it an ideal technology for backlit applications and especially for developing touchscreen interfaces.
RS now offers Seoul Semiconductor's SunLike LED range with warm, natural and cool white color temperatures for devices at 2700, 3000K, 3500, 4000 and 5000K.
