The device is only 22 mm wide and has four independently protected outputs, so a failure in one channel does not interrupt the operation of the others. The new series is available in two versions: RACPRO1-4SP/24V/5A/BS, with four 5 A channels, and RACPRO1-4SP/24V/10A/BS, with four 10 A channels. Each output has its own overcurrent limit.

Independent protection and Power Boost capability

The RACPRO1-4SP/BS incorporates a 150% Power Boost function for five seconds, allowing it to handle short-duration power spikes. It also supports overloads exceeding 150% for up to 100 ms, preventing unnecessary shutdowns during transient current increases. The module maintains its full output power up to an ambient temperature of 60 °C.

To facilitate the ignition of loads with high capacitance, it has a controlled increase in output voltage and a sequential start of the channels, with a delay of 50 ms between each one.

Priority management and Smart Hiccup mode

In situations of general system overload, the electronic fuse disconnects the channels in reverse order of priority, allowing essential loads to remain powered for longer. The user can select between Hiccup and Tripping protection modes. Additionally, Smart Hiccup mode progressively extends the intervals between restart attempts when recurring overloads occur. This function reduces the electrical and thermal stress on both the device and connected components.

Monitoring and configuration of the four channels

Each output has LED status indicators and can be individually connected or disconnected. Current limits can be configured offline, while system monitoring is performed via a DC-OK signal and a remote reset function. The device also incorporates push-in connectors, which facilitate tool-free wiring.

Industrial applications and availability

The RACPRO1-4SP/BS is designed for industrial and factory automation, building and process automation, intralogistics, electrical distribution, and infrastructure applications, particularly in control cabinets with limited space. The modules are manufactured in Europe, come with a three-year warranty, and are certified according to IEC/EN/UL 62368-1.

According to Michael Peters, Product Manager at RECOM, the new device combines a compact design, individual channel protection, and ease of use to simplify the protection of 24V DC industrial loads.

Samples and pricing for OEM manufacturers are available through authorized distributors and directly from RECOM.
