Assemblies with solid-state relays
The relays are connected by zero crossing of the sinusoidal voltage and disconnected at a zero current, reflected in the power section and not causing arcs or bounces as there are no abrupt switching changes.
It operates quietly and can handle high switching currents, with an optimal service life. The unit shown in the photograph has a power rating of 55 kW, a working current of 75 A at 400 V AC, and is equipped with protective devices.
The power assembly is used to connect and disconnect resistive loads, such as industrial ovens, and inductive loads, such as an AC motor. However, when starting the motor, the assembly must handle a current 5 to 10 times the motor's rated current. For soft starting, a different type of solid-state relay, specifically designed for this application, would be required.
