The new EA TFT009-81AINN color LCD screen from DISPLAY VISIONS is less than the size of a thumb. Despite this, its surface area of approximately one by three centimeters (0.96 inches diagonally) houses 80 by 160 pixels. It can be used for high-resolution color or black and white graphic displays. The powerful white LED backlight provides the screen with a brightness of up to 500 cd/m². As a result, it offers excellent readability even in direct sunlight or under bright work lights. Thanks to its IPS panel with all-angle-color technology, colors and contrast remain stable even at very oblique viewing angles.
It is controlled via the integrated ST7735S graphics controller. Its SPI interface is managed with either four or three wires. Therefore, the mini-display is particularly well-suited for applications where every connector pin saved counts. This graphic panel will soon also be available with a capacitive touch surface under the designation EA TFT009-81AITC. In that case, it will also feature an I²C interface, which significantly speeds up the direct reading of touch coordinates.
The display requires a 3.3V power supply and operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +70°C. It can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations. Thanks to its compact size, it is particularly well-suited for use as a display in wearables, as well as in measuring probes, battery-powered drills, and various handheld electronic devices.
