In addition, the modules can be connected in parallel to increase the available output power, or for redundant power supply.

The two new versions operate with input voltages from 85 to 264 VAC and can be used worldwide. They are equipped with an active PFC circuit and achieve a power factor >0.95. The REDIN120 series is available with 12, 24, or 48 VDC output voltages, while the more powerful REDIN240 series delivers 24 or 48 VDC. The terminals are designed for conductors with a cross-section of up to 4 mm².
Both power supplies are isolated between input and output by 3 kVAC/1 min. They achieve very high efficiency ratings of up to 92.5% (REDIN120) or 94.3% (REDIN240). This not only reduces energy consumption but also heat generation within the enclosed housing. The permissible operating temperature ranges from -25°C to +70°C, with a nominal power output up to +60°C. The modules automatically shut down to protect the system if the maximum permissible temperature is exceeded and in case of overvoltage, overload, or short circuit. In addition to the standard red/green indicator, a "power good" signal can be generated via potential-free relay contacts, which can optionally be used as a service indicator in the control cabinet or for PLC fault messages. Multiple modules can be connected in series.
The new models feature a robust metal housing that can be optionally mounted on the rear or side of a DIN rail. The latter option is particularly advantageous in control cabinets with shallow mounting depths. Both versions are 124.4 mm high and 114.5 mm deep. The REDIN120 is particularly narrow at only 33 mm, while the REDIN240 is only slightly wider at 46 mm. The power supplies operate reliably at altitudes up to 3,000 meters, although cooling is reduced due to the lower oxygen concentration.
Both modules are certified to UL508, UL60950-1, and IEC/EN60950-1 and comply with Class B EMC standards EN55022/55024. High reliability is ensured through the use of highly reliable, long-life electrolytic capacitors and high-grade ferrites for transformers and step-down transformers. The manufacturer's warranty is correspondingly long at 5 years. The retail prices are below average for this quality level.
