This efficient design, with a 3" x 5" base plate, measures only 38 mm in overall height and allows for direct heat dissipation through metal enclosures in the end application. Up to 550 watts of peak power with nominal outputs of 24V, 36V, 48V, and 56V is available to drive dynamic loads for several seconds, with forced air depending on the model, line input, and ambient temperature, even continuously.

A 12V smart fan output is available as standard, as well as a 5V/1A VSB output for applications with maintenance circuitry and on/off control. In standby mode, the units consume less than 500 mW of power and deliver up to 5 V/400 mW output for display functions, according to Ecodesign Lot 6 requirements. The wide input range of 80 to 264 VAC, operating altitude up to 5,000 m, ambient operating temperatures of -40 to +70 °C, and certifications from international safety agencies ensure the series meets global standards for 2MOPP (250 VAC), residential, industrial, and ITE medical applications. The RACM550 series is available in an open-frame design or a closed metal enclosure.
