The 1 kW and 2 kW models, expandable to 10 kW, are available in two performance classes to meet the power testing needs of test system engineers. APS N6900 Series DC power supplies are designed for automated test equipment applications where high performance is critical. APS N7900 Series dynamic DC power supplies are designed for automated test equipment applications where high-speed dynamic measurement and generation are paramount.
Agilent APS power supplies help engineers overcome a variety of power-related testing challenges, including protecting valuable test devices from power-related damage, maintaining output integrity under dynamic load conditions, and characterizing dynamic current profiles.
The N8900 Series expands Agilent's offering of basic power supplies with a significantly higher power range at a competitive price. Engineers can use multiple units in parallel to achieve power outputs exceeding 100 kW. These new power supplies are designed to meet the testing needs of high-power applications, such as electric and hybrid electric vehicles, wind and solar inverters, and high-voltage lithium batteries.
The N8900 Series models are the only DC power supplies available worldwide with this superior power output range and auto-ranging capability. Auto-ranging gives test engineers more flexibility than they can achieve with traditional or rectangular output power supplies. Power supplies with auto-ranging outputs can generate many more voltage and current combinations at their maximum output capacity than a rectangular output power supply, which only generates one.
The specifications and capabilities of APS sources include:
o Test speeds 100 times faster than standard system power supplies
o Full dual-quadrant operation for energy storage test applications
o Command processing speed of around 2 ms
o Rise and fall programming speeds of 500 µs
o Dual voltage and current measurement capability with accuracy similar to digital multimeters
o High-resolution current and voltage digitizers for dynamic measurements
o Integrated parallel operation capability up to 10 kW
o Intelligent tripping to protect high-value devices under test
In addition to auto-ranging capability, the N8900 Series offers:
or 14 voltage, current and power combinations available in 208 VAC or 400 VAC (28 models in total)
or Up to 1,500 V and up to 510 A
or Built-in voltage and current measurements
or Overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection
Both families of power supplies include LAN (LXI Core), USB, GPIB and analog interfaces.
