The new series offers class-leading power density and efficiency in a compact 1x3-inch form factor. Its reduced size saves 50% of the space compared to 2x3-inch devices, enabling higher capacity per unit in lower-power applications.
The series offers two mechanical mounting options, including PCB or open frame mounting. Designed for the medical market, the new MDP65 series is cost-effective and prioritizes critical safety. It complies with the stringent IEC/EN 60601-1 safety standard, features 2xMOPP insulation, and is suitable for Type BF medical applications. Its wide operating temperature range, from -20°C to +70°C, ensures reliable performance, even when incorporated into compact, hermetically sealed portable diagnostic or monitoring units where heat dissipation is a challenge.
The entire series, designed and manufactured by the Bel Mumbai team, offers a favorable total cost of ownership (COO) over time compared to similar components. The new HDP65 and MDP65 are also certified by safety agencies and meet the latest regulatory requirements with UL and Nemko approvals.
“By leveraging GaN power technology, we’ve achieved high efficiency and a smaller footprint without sacrificing safety,” said [Ian Warner, director of business development]. “This new compact form factor is a unique addition to our portfolio, driving higher power density for lower-power applications, which is essential for our customers in the medical and industrial markets.”
