The physical layout is identical, and all instruments have similar input and output characteristics. All models in the 10000 series employ active power factor correction, typically 0.99, to minimize power consumption from the electrical grid. In addition, the EA-PSB bidirectional power supplies and EA-ELR electronic loads utilize regenerative circuitry to return energy to the grid with an efficiency exceeding 96%. Regenerative circuitry reduces operating costs and the cooling expenses required to dissipate the heat generated by a conventional electronic load.
