These features include a constant power operating curve, accurate readings of applied voltage and current values, output trigger signals, and the ability to generate complex DC transient waveforms for testing device behavior under voltage spikes, sags, and other deviations. Designed for automated testing of DC-DC converters and similar products, the 62000P family sets a new standard for high-precision programmable power supplies.
The 62000P series includes 12 different models with power ratings from 600W to 5000W, currents up to 120A, and voltages up to 600V. Thanks to its constant power operating curve function, a single instrument can provide both high voltage/current and low voltage/current, thus reducing the number of power supplies required for typical automated applications.
The 62000P power supplies also include the ability to accurately read 16-bit voltage and current output values. This eliminates the need for shunts and multiplexers, previously required to obtain accurate readings of the input parameters of the device under test. They also incorporate 8-bit TTL input/output ports for output signal activation and deactivation, output failure signal, and trigger signals for timing and synchronization measurements.
Another unique feature of the 62000P series is its ability to generate complex DC transient waveforms, enabling testing of devices under DC voltage dips, spikes, and other voltage variations. This makes this family of power supplies an ideal test tool for in-flight device testing, inverter testing, and other applications that may experience voltage interruptions. Applications include DC/DC converters, inverter voltage dip testing, motor start simulation, automatic battery charging, product life cycle testing, and more.
Wide Operating Ranges at Constant Power
: The 62000P series offers a wide operating range. For example, the 62012P-80-60 model operates from 0-80V and 0-60A with a maximum power of 1200W, and can operate in various combinations as shown in the image. Conventional power supplies provide the same maximum current at all output voltage values; however, the 62000P series can operate with higher currents at lower voltages. This means that the same device can be tested with low voltage/high current and high voltage/low current using a single power supply, thus saving costs and space in the automated test system.
Another feature incorporated in this series of DC power supplies is sequential programming, with 100 user-programmable sequences configurable from 5ms to 15000s, voltage/current rise ratio control, 8-bit TTL output, and analog programming with an isolated programming interface card for automated testing applications. RS232 and USB interfaces are standard across the 62000P series, with optional GPIB and/or Ethernet communication.
