Designed to withstand the large pressure differentials caused by extreme weather conditions, the new GORE® PolyVent High Airflow provides twice the airflow with the same reliable protection as previous Gore HA (High Airflow) vents. It also features an improved, UL-listed O-ring for reduced flammability. In enclosures up to 50 liters, the GORE® PolyVent High Airflow provides a high level of protection against extreme conditions that could damage seals and outdoor electronics.

“At a pressure differential of 70 mbar, the new GORE® PolyVent High Airflow delivers an airflow of 4,000 ml/minute—essentially double the airflow of our previous HA vent element, which delivered 2,000 ml/minute,” explains Torsten Eifler, Global Product Manager for Protective Vents. “And it achieves this airflow while maintaining the same reliable protection against water and foreign object ingress. The new GORE® PolyVent High Airflow meets IP66, IP67, IP68 (1-hour immersion at a depth of 2 m), and IP69k (high-pressure steam) protection standards. It also features a specially treated membrane with both oleophobic and hydrophobic properties.”.

Eifler expects this new generation High Airflow element to be especially useful for two distinct groups of outdoor electronics manufacturers: those who need a high airflow because they design large enclosures, with up to 50 liters of internal volume, and those who require a higher airflow to allow them to modify designs for better cost-effectiveness, such as thinner enclosure walls or less robust gaskets.

The new GORE® PolyVent High Airflow also incorporates another technological improvement: a perfected formula in the approved O-ring, with a UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.

Flammability with UL approval for greater safety of outdoor electronics

The new GORE® PolyVent High Airflow is a screw-on element. It is available in two colors: black (product reference PMF100585) and gray (product reference PMF100586).
