With this new series, GigaDevice expands its portfolio of high-performance MCUs and offers a robust and flexible platform for the development of next-generation smart devices.

The GD32F5HC series, based on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, operates at a main frequency of 200 MHz and leverages the efficient Arm® v8-M architecture. These chips incorporate an advanced digital signal processing (DSP) hardware accelerator and a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU) to accelerate real-time control and algorithm-driven application tasks. The series offers significantly larger capacities compared to similar products, with up to 2048 KB of Flash, 320 KB of SRAM, and 32 KB of I-Cache, enabling developers with even large program storage requirements to easily implement complex algorithms, graphics frameworks, and high-speed data pipelines. The GD32F5HC series also incorporates a comprehensive suite of integrated security mechanisms. With a TrustZone®-enabled architecture that provides hardware-level security protection and dual-level access control via MPU and SAU to strengthen security at the core, the series further enhances its protection with dedicated hardware security features, including 2 kbits of eFuse for security key storage and a comprehensive suite of cryptographic accelerators including TRNG (True Random Number Generator), SHA, DES/3DES, AES, RSA/DH, and ECC. End-to-end protection is supported by secure boot, secure storage, secure debugging, and secure updates, ensuring firmware integrity and protecting devices throughout their lifecycle, delivering an increasingly critical level of security as modern products seek to meet stringent requirements under new regulations.

Rich peripheral resources and high-speed connectivity at the heart of application versatility

The GD32F5HC series integrates a comprehensive set of communication interfaces and high-performance peripherals. These include: 2 SPI, 1 I2S, 1 SQPI, 1 QSPI, 2 I2C, 3 USART, and 1 USB FS OTG. The QSPI and SQPI interfaces support external PSRAM/Flash memory, with frequencies up to 45 MHz, for expanded storage capacity. Analog peripherals include a 12-bit ADC and an integrated temperature sensor, as well as IFRP, for high-precision analog signal acquisition and processing. The timing subsystem includes: 1 16-bit advanced timer, 2 32-bit general timers, 4 16-bit general timers, and 1 16-bit basic timer. This configuration enables precise waveform generation, motor control, and multi-axis synchronization in industrial and automation applications. The overall system performance is further optimized by the 8-channel DMA0/DMA1 controllers and the DMAMUX module, which enable efficient and autonomous data transfers between memory and peripherals, significantly reducing the CPU workload.
