mc1150pic16f753hiwebThe new PIC16F753 microcontroller builds on the success of the well-known PIC12F752. The PIC16F753 offers all the key features of the PIC12F752, such as the integrated Complementary Output Generator (COG), which provides complementary, non-overlapping waveforms for inputs like comparators and pulse-width modulation (PWM) peripherals, and enables deadband control, auto-power-off, auto-reset, phase control, and erase control. In addition, the PIC16F753 offers an operational amplifier with a 3 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a slope compensation circuit to aid in switched-mode power supply applications. The new microcontroller also incorporates 3.5 KB of auto-read-write program memory, 128 KB of RAM, an integrated 10-bit A/D converter, a 9-bit D/A converter, PWM capture/compare modules, high-performance comparators, and two 50 mA-capable I/Os, enabling engineers to increase system capacity and reduce costs.

With its enhanced intelligent analog capabilities, the PIC16F753 helps boost system performance and efficiency while reducing costs, especially for new LED lighting and smart energy applications.
Integrated with numerous general-purpose and specialized peripherals, such as the built-in COG, high-performance comparators, and 50 mA outputs for direct FET control, the PIC16F753 microcontroller meets the needs of a wide range of applications. The high-voltage version incorporates a shunt regulator, enabling operation between 2 V and an unspecified, user-defined maximum voltage level, with an operating current of less than 2 mA. This high-voltage version is ideal for cost-sensitive applications with high-voltage power rails. Additionally, the 10-bit, 8-channel A/D converter can be used to implement various sensors and mTouch™ sensing applications, including capacitive touch sensing.

The PIC16F753 microcontroller enables efficient power conversion in applications such as LED lighting and power supply control. It also provides a versatile platform for incorporating intelligence into numerous automotive, consumer, commercial, and industrial applications, enabling intelligent system infrastructure with greater efficiencies, reduced costs, and an enhanced user experience.

The PIC16F753 is supported by Microchip's standard suite of premium development tools, including the PICDEM™ Development Kit (DM163045) priced at $134.99; the PICkit™ 3 (PG164130) at $44.95; and the PICkit Development Board (DM164130-9) at $25.99. A free reference design for a high-power LED flashlight is also available for this product.

The PIC16F753 is now available for sampling in a 16-pin, 4 mm x 4 mm QFN package, as well as in 14-pin PDIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages. A high-voltage (HV) version of the PIC16F753 is available for all packages. Volume production is scheduled for July.
