The Wonder Gecko microcontroller includes the ARM Cortex-M4 processor, which provides a full DSP instruction set and a dedicated floating-point unit (FPU). The EFM32 Wonder Gecko also utilizes the eLL (extreme low leakage) process for very low power operation in active and sleep modes.
The Wonder Gecko family consists of 60 scalable memory configurations and packages with up to 256 KB of Flash and 32 KB of RAM, and the option to choose between QFN64 and BGA120. All options include Gecko standalone peripherals and interface options such as LESENSE, LETIMER, PRS, USB, and TFT/LCD controllers to provide a complete system in a single-chip solution.
The design tools for planning, coding, and verifying designs are supported by Energy Micro's free Simplicity Studio suite. To reduce design time, Simplicity Studio includes the CMSIS-DSP library with over 60 functions implemented in 32-bit, fixed-point, and single-precision floating-point arithmetic, as well as documentation for DSP algorithms such as complex FFT, FIR filters, matrix and vector operations, and statistical analysis. All hardware support tools incorporate a SEGGER J-Link debugger, so you only need to plug it into your computer's USB port to get started.
