The PIC32MM microchip range, available from Mouser Electronics, consists of flexible and cost-effective microcontrollers with minimal power consumption and small form factors. These devices utilize the microAptiv™ 32-bit UC core with 5-stage pipelining and an enhanced MIPS32 architecture, integrated with the microMIPS™ instruction set and a duplicate register set, achieving a CoreMark™ score of 79 at 25 MHz. Furthermore, the microMIPS ISA combines 16-bit and 32-bit instructions for compact runtime code. The PIC32MM devices feature 64 kilobytes of flash memory and 8 kilobytes of RAM, two analog comparators with multiplexed input, a 5-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a software-selectable 10- or 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).
For applications requiring low power consumption and extended battery life, PIC32MM devices feature standby modes that reduce current draw to as low as 500 nA while preserving RAM. PIC32MM devices also include core-independent peripherals such as configurable logic cells (CLCs) and multi-output capture/compare pulse-width modulators (MCCPs), enabling their use in LED dimming and brushless DC motor control applications.
The PIC32MM devices utilize Microchip's MPLAB® code configurator, which helps simplify and accelerate the design of embedded applications such as in the Internet of Things (IoT), environmental monitoring, fitness monitoring devices, industrial control, and wearable medical equipment.
