The Device Information Area (DIA) provides secure storage for unique device identification and calibration values. The PIC16F15386 family also offers a comprehensive and user-friendly development experience with Microchip's MPLAB® Xpress and MPLAB Code Configurator, the fastest way to generate application code. This family is suitable for a wide range of general-purpose and low-power applications.
This scalable family offers up to 28KB of Flash and 2KB of RAM in packages ranging from 8 to 48 pins. It is the first family of 8-bit PIC microcontrollers to offer the 48-pin package and to add more A/D conversion and I/O channels. The family offers high levels of CIP integration to perform system functions, such as signal generation, motor control, safety monitoring, system communications, and human interface, outside the core while minimizing power consumption. The new microcontrollers offer idle and doze modes, as well as power management functions that disable peripheral modules, allowing engineers to optimize the balance between power consumption and performance.
The new Xpress Series development board lets you get started on projects right away. In just two minutes, engineers can begin developing application code using the Xpress Series board and the cloud-based MPLAB Xpress integrated development environment. The family also includes support for two Curiosity boards (DM164136 and DM164137) and Microchip's free software development platforms such as MPLAB Code Configurator (MCC) and MPLAB X. The MCC is a free software extension that provides a graphical interface for configuring application-specific peripherals and functions. For a limited time, Microchip is also offering free Xpress Series boards.
The PIC16F15386 family includes 13 unique products available in various package options, such as PDIP, SOIC, DFN, UDFN, UQFN, and SSOP. All are now available for sampling and volume production.
