Renesas introduces two new MCU groups in its RA family of Arm® Cortex®-M devices. The RA4T1 group offers 100 MHz performance with up to 256 KB of flash memory and 40 KB of SRAM. The new RA6T3 group offers a 200 MHz operating frequency and provides 256 KB of flash memory and 40 KB of SRAM. Both new groups offer a range of features and functions specifically designed for motor control applications, including Trigonometric Function Units (TFUs) for acceleration, an advanced ADC with integrated PGA, and a wide selection of communication interfaces, including CAN FD. The new components are compatible with Renesas' Flexible Software Package (FSP), which facilitates design migration from other devices in the RA family.
Renesas also suppliesnew RX26T group MCUs from the RX family that operate at 120 MHz with up to 512 KB of flash memory and 64 KB of SRAM. They are compatible with 5V power supplies and offer high noise immunity and control accuracy. They also provide TFU, on-chip timing, and interrupt control. Customers of the popular RX24T MCUs can easily scale their designs to the new RX26T products to leverage existing design software and achieve improvements in control performance and efficiency.
All new MCUs are compatible with the Renesas Flexible Motor Control Development Kit, which allows for easy evaluation of motor control using permanent magnet synchronous motors (brushless DC motors), and with the Renesas Motor Workbench development tool. By improving motor control efficiency, Renesas MCUs can save energy in end systems.
