Archer Kontrol products are available in horizontal or vertical orientations (vertical models are available in various heights). These space-saving connectors are designed for surface mounting, simplifying automated assembly processes. Their solder tabs ensure a secure connection to the printed circuit board. Thanks to their fully enclosed design, they can withstand the lateral and torsional forces encountered in vibration-prone applications. Furthermore, the polarized housing is helpful when a blind connection is required and can tolerate a significant degree of deflection.
 
The family includes parallel board-to-board or right-angle mother-daughter board configurations and is compatible with widely used standard connectors, allowing for direct replacement. Thanks to the various pin and height combinations available, these connectors offer extensive possibilities for stacking multiple boards. They feature a minimum insulation resistance of 1000MΩ, withstand voltages of 500VAC, and have an operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C. They can withstand 500 connection/disconnection cycles.
 
Harwin's Archer Kontrol product family is supplied on tapes and reels, with pick-and-place caps on the vertical connectors for automated production. The phosphor bronze contacts of these connectors are gold-plated over the contact areas and tin-plated over nickel at the plate ends for easy soldering. Their housings are molded from a high-temperature LCP material conforming to UL94V-0. Key applications for these connectors include industrial drives and controls, as well as other industrial equipment, data loggers, Internet of Things installations, portable monitoring instruments, train equipment, vehicle control systems, and road and rail monitoring/telemetry equipment.
