The 2057…BA series motors are housed in a moisture-resistant stainless steel casing. During the development process, they underwent rigorous autoclave load testing. Based on these tests, the standard motor is guaranteed to withstand approximately 1000 typical autoclave cycles without damage. The sensorless model withstands 1500 cycles.
Autoclavable motors are commonly used in handheld dental or surgical instruments. These devices typically require extremely high speeds. The 2057…BA series achieves speeds up to 65,000 rpm.
This type of motor is used in other healthcare applications, such as in ventilators. Like all FAULHABER motors, the models in this series are characterized by their high power-to-volume ratio. They are therefore well-suited for installation in confined spaces. Their light weight makes them ideal for use in handheld devices with which doctors and dentists perform delicate tasks that typically last several hours.
