The SYCAMORE design features three contact points, ensuring continuity and robustness previously only available in two-piece systems and rarely found in tape and reel configurations. Key markets for SYCAMORE include gas detection systems in residential and commercial settings, fire alarms and meters, as well as numerous other applications requiring modules and devices that are field-replaceable or temperature-sensitive components mounted on a printed circuit board. SYCAMORE is a proprietary and exclusive Harwin contact design with pending patents.

SYCAMORE is a one-piece SMT terminal block design characterized by its low profile of only 0.3mm above the printed circuit board. It is available in top and bottom entry versions, accepts 1.0mm or 1.50mm diameter pins with open terminals, so the pin depth is not limited. The contacts, made of beryllium copper, are gold-plated to ensure high conductivity and durability within a temperature range of -50°C to +125°C.
