The QDe connects to any Ensemble controller network and enables coordinated movement of multiple piezoelectric platforms and servo axes at much higher speeds than other controllers or drive products. This power and versatility make the Ensemble QDe ideal for single- or multi-axis applications, from fundamental scientific research to advanced OEM mechanical systems.
The QDe delivers extreme processing power across a wide range of applications, including point-to-point motion, linear and circular interpolation, multi-axis error correction, and autofocus. High-speed interrupts and data logging provide a real-time link with external systems. The QDe also incorporates high-speed position hold and multi-axis Position Synchronized Output (PSO) to generate pulses based on actual position response in applications ranging from laser power-up to triggering acquisition systems.
High Resolution and Ultra-Precise Response:
By using state-of-the-art technology and high-resolution A/D and D/A converters, the QDe enables sub-nanometer positioning resolution across wide bandwidths. The QDe's capacitive sensor response circuitry generates exceptionally low noise levels throughout the entire travel range. A linearization method developed by Aerotech achieves better-than-0.01% linearity across the entire travel range in closed-loop mode.
Advanced Software and Control Features:
The QDe Ensemble utilizes servo PID loops with advanced feedforward and multiple integrators, along with eight programmable filters, to provide the user with all the necessary tools to optimize motion performance. Aerotech's Dynamic Controls Toolbox and Motion Designer packages provide a wide range of advanced, user-friendly tools, including learner control, harmonic cancellation, command creation, and cross-axis feedforward, resulting in improved error tracking and faster step and settling times. The Ensemble is even easier to use thanks to the pre-coded LabVIEW® VI, the AeroBasic™ programming feature, the MATLAB® library, and the .NET tools for C#, VB.NET, and C++/CLI or C.
