Its applications include battery packs, inverters, power distribution units (PDUs), and propulsion units in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell vehicles. Development focused on reducing system complexity while meeting increasing performance requirements. The reduced number of components simplifies assembly and integration, and the design is specifically tailored to automated manufacturing processes. This shortens assembly times and increases process reliability—a critical factor for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and wire assemblers.
Optimized for integration and manufacturing
The optimized design accommodates cable cross-sections of 35 mm², 50 mm², and 70 mm² for both copper and aluminum wires. Straight and right-angle cable connectors can be combined using the same head, enabling flexible integration while reducing installation space, weight, and material requirements. The design also facilitates integration into existing production lines for automated cable harness manufacturing. A lever-locking mechanism with CPA ensures a secure connection, and HVIL (High Voltage Interlock) is available as an option. The connector is RoHS compliant and manufactured according to the "local-to-local" principle.
Designed for high-performance applications
With an operating voltage of up to 1200 V DC and a current capacity of 310 A at 85 °C, the HVR® 280 is ideal for current and future generations of vehicles. The system also offers a short-duration current capacity of up to 653 A for 100 seconds. Compliant with vibration class V2 according to DIN/TS 70214:2025-11 PG 17, as well as the temperature profile according to DIN EN IEC 60068-2-14 (VDE 0468-2-14), the series is also qualified to operate in demanding environmental conditions.

The HVR®280 series comprises straight and right-angle cable connectors, as well as matching head variants. Optional busbar pass-through designs are also available. All variants are compatible with each other and designed for automated manufacturing processes. Mechanical strength plays a critical role, especially in industrial robotics and mobile systems.
