At the same time, its optimized design, with a reduced CO2 footprint, contributes to achieving sustainability goals and allows developers to meet environmental requirements without compromising performance.
The SCHRACK RSY relay is a reliable, powerful, and globally available switching solution for industrial and building automation, the HVAC market, and drive technology. High contact reliability and a long electrical lifespan under harsh operating conditions help reduce downtime and lower total cost of ownership for customers.
"The RSY series combines performance, reliability and sustainability in a compact design and helps customers meet both technical and environmental requirements," says Manavika Goel, global product manager at TE Connectivity (TE).
The market launch of the new relays begins with a normally open (NO) contact relay (form A). Subsequently, other variants will be added, including changeover (CO) contact relays (form C) and versions suitable for through-hole reflow soldering (THR).
The SCHRACK RSY series is the compatible successor to TE's SCHRACK MSR relay, which has been on the market for over 35 years. The series allows for easy replacement without requiring a redesign of the printed circuit board or modifications to the assembly process.
Compared to the previous model, CO2 emissions are reduced by more than 15%. TE achieves this through a smart combination of modern materials, significantly improved components, and fully automated manufacturing. Decarbonization and reduced resource consumption improve the environmental impact and help customers meet their sustainability goals.
The relays ensure safe and reliable operation of modern air conditioning and heating systems with future refrigerants of classes A2L and A3, by complying with the relevant IEC 60079 standards for areas with a risk of explosion.
The SCHRACK RSY series features a new contact design that offers increased vibration resistance, improved electrical load capacity at elevated temperatures up to 105°C, and a significantly longer electrical lifespan. It also allows for use in applications with low signal loads as low as 5V and 1mA. This enables customers to switch signal loads with high contact reliability using silver-plated contacts instead of gold-plated ones.
“SCHRACK’s RSY relay series has been developed to deliver consistently high performance even under demanding operating conditions. It promotes long-term system reliability and maximizes facility availability, for applications our customers can rely on at all times,” says Christian Netsch, Global Product Manager at TE.
