“The storage requirements of automotive applications continue to increase as car infotainment and ADAS systems become more sophisticated,” explains Axel Stoermann, Vice President of SSD Marketing and Engineering at KIOXIA Europe GmbH. “UFS technology is ideal for supporting the high-performance and high-density needs of these applications.”
The new devices support a wide temperature range (-40°C to +105°C), meet the requirements of the AEC-Q100 Grade 2 standard, and offer the enhanced reliability capabilities required by increasingly complex automotive applications.
The sequential read and write performance of the UFS automotive device Ver. 3.1 has significantly improved by approximately 2.2 and 6 times, respectively, compared to the previous generation device. These performance improvements contribute to faster system boot times and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
